Over the years, I’ve had many clients ask similar questions about their photography sessions. Let’s see if I can answer your question in my FAQs below.
What if I’m really (REALLY) nervous about my session?
Many of my clients feel uncomfortable in front of a camera. That’s why it’s so important to me that we get to know each other a bit first. Connection is personal, and when you trust the person you work with it makes all the difference. I'll make sure your session is uplifting and fun, and you feel safe to be yourself.

Do you take studio photos or outdoor photos?
Both! I do whatever you prefer. Most of my clients choose to have their photos taken outside in the spring/summer/fall months, particularly with senior pictures, engagement portraits, and family sessions. My indoor studio is great for branding sessions, business headshots, women's empowerment photography, and uncooperative Minnesota weather.

How far will you travel to take outdoor photos?
I love to travel and am open to going just about anywhere with enough planning. I do charge $.50 per mile outside of a 30-mile radius from Cold Spring.

I’m just as excited about your images as you are! Here’s what to expect: Within 48 hours, a sneak peek of your session will be posted on Facebook and Instagram (with your permission, of course). The full gallery is typically delivered to you within 3 weeks, but may sometimes take up to 4 weeks during my busy season. As soon as they are ready, you will be sent an email with a link to your photos via a private gallery. A full print release is included with your images.

What is the difference between a Family Portrait Session, an Extended Family Portrait Session, and a Mini Family Portrait Mini Session?
The Family Portrait Session is for your immediate family and includes parents and children living in your home. (I’ve also been asked by folks with lots of children if the price includes them all, and the answer is of course!)
The Extended Family Portrait Session is for families who want to include members not living in your home with you, such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc., and includes up to 25 people. (Please request pricing for more than 25 members.)
The Family Portrait Mini Session is for immediate families who want a group photo but want to get it done fast. This option is great for Christmas and seasonal photos, parents of impatient or uncooperative kids, or even people with cranky spouses/partners (you know who you are)!

Yes! I have two Boston Terriers that I adore, and I know how our pets become beloved family members too!

What happens if there is bad weather on the day my outdoor photo session is scheduled?
We’ll look at rescheduling when the weather doesn't cooperate. This could mean rain, high winds, or even extreme heat. There is also the option of using my indoor studio for your session, if you choose.

What happens if I need to reschedule or cancel?
I get it, life happens, and when it does we can reschedule! However, if your session requires a nonrefundable deposit (e.g., Senior Portraits and Weddings) and it is canceled, your deposit will not be refunded.
